The Economic Society of Australia is a federation of stated-based groups with approximately 1,400 members. It was established in 1925, and is devoted to promoting discussion and debate of economic issues within Australia. It does this by: (1) Publishing journals (the Economic Record and Economic Papers); (2) promoting economic debate in a variety of forums (e.g. the Eminent Speaker Series); and (3) holding conferences and seminars to encourage economic thought.
