English Conversation Groups (ECG) were initiated by the International Office in 2015 to support students in need across all campuses at the University of Western Sydney. As Academic Course Advisor for MA in TESOL and TESOL Internship coordinator, I was involved in training the ECG facilitators when the groups were first established. Many TESOL students have been engaged in working with participants. Since then, it has supported all students who are interested in practising English conversation, making more friends, and connecting with fellow students from diverse language and cultural backgrounds. ECG facilitators and members can meet and chat face-to-face or online. English Conversation Groups have been real intercultural communication communities across Western Sydney University campuses.
