Realising Digital Futures Through Green AI, Cybersecurity and Sustainable Societies

AI and cybersecurity are at the core of building sustainable societies. In this context, the proposed Special Issue, "Realising Digital Futures Through Green AI, Cybersecurity and Sustainable Societies", examines the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and inclusive digital sustainability to foster resilient, equitable, and livable communities. This Special Issue will focus on the following: (a) Investigating emerging cybersecurity risks in critical infrastructure and smart cities;(b) Assessing AI's dual role in both mitigating and exacerbating online harm, particularly in vulnerable communities;(c) Addressing digital inclusion challenges affecting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations, refugees, and Indigenous groups;(d) Perspectives of green AI in creating livable communities and fairer societies. This collection will contribute to the existing literature on digital resilience and green and ethical AI by integrating multidisciplinary perspectives from cybersecurity, behavioural sciences, and environmental sustainability.
