Dataset

Description

An exploration of the level of integration of Sufi orders in the Western context. Relations to the West and to the 'authenticity' of their traditions appear to have been differently constructed. The researchers conducted analysis of the content of two orders' respective websites in 2012: http://www.nimatullahi.org and http://www. naqshbandi.org To compliment the data collected on the qualitative analysis of these sites, the researchers referenced fieldwork that was conducted in 2012-13, when seven people were interviewed from each group in Sydney. The data were thematically analyzed to ascertain participants' use and opinion of the Internet. Due to ethics clearance limitations, only the thematic analysis can be made available.
