Description

The ROS facility is a series of six large, rain-sensing, automatic retractable roof rainout shelters, that allow field-based precipitation manipulation experiments on trees in Australia. The Weather Station is a metrological station situated in the Yarrimundi Paddock of the University of Western Sydney off of Southee Road, Richmond, NSW. The station started collecting data in June 2011. The ambient meteorological data collection includes: - Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density Air temperature Relative Humidity - Wind speed and direction Precipitation by tipping bucket - Manual rain gauge - Short wave and long wave radiation - Net radiation Leaf wetness - Soil temperature - Soil moisture. The data is used in correlation with the Rainout Shelters environmental sensors and the Hawkesbury Forest Experiment. Funding bodies of the project include Australian Federal Government Education Investment Fund and University of Western Sydney.

This collection contains:

Air Temperature, Relative Humidity and Light measurement data from the RainOut Shelter (ROS) Facilities 1-6, based at the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment at the University of Western Sydney. Records to be included in this collection are 5-minutely averaged data from the shelter facilities and 30-second data from the associated control plot, packaged by month and facility number, for the period July 2013 to June 2014 inclusive.

Volumetric Water Content and Temperature data from the RainOut Shelter (ROS) Facilities 1-6, based at the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment at the University of Western Sydney. Records to be included in this collection are 15-minutely averaged data from both the shelter and the associated control plot, packaged by month and facility number, for the period July 2013 to June 2014 inclusive

The data collection (stored in the 'BagIt' file packaging format - see draft spec http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-kunze-bagit-09) contains two files that, when unzipped, are in TOA5 file format. In addition a README.html file gives further details about each individual file.

NB: As at January 2016, only the data for period July-September 2013 has been published.
