Organisation profile

The International Centre for Neuromorphic Systems (ICNS) is a world-leading research concentration in neuromorphic engineering with outstanding publications, funding success, and teaching excellence.
ICNS researchers were the first to place neuromorphic sensors in space on the International Space Station and are developing sophisticated neuromorphic underwater and aerial autonomous drones and robots for a range of applications. We have built DeepSouth, the world’s first neuromorphic supercomputer to process as many spikes per second as a human brain.

Our Masters program prepares students for industry opportunities or a research pathway leading to a Doctoral degree. Students learn from global leaders and gain skills in bio-inspired agile sensory systems, AI and machine learning, smart edge devices, and brain-inspired high-performance computational platforms. With strong funding support, state-of-the-art facilities, and a world-class technical support team, researchers and students can rapidly prototype their novel ideas and apply them in the real world in the form of successful start-up companies.
