Biography

Bobby joined the School of Health Sciences in 2009.  He currently teaches subjects titled Exercise for Health and Disease Prevention (REHA3010) and Exercise Prescription 1 (HLTH2005).  His research to date has primarily focused on investigating the health and clinical benefits of conventional exercise modalities (e.g. resistance training, high-intensity interval training) as well as mind-body therapies (e.g. yoga, meditation, qigong).  At present, he is interested in investigating the effect of exercise and mind-body therapies on the endocannabinoid system, and the use of medicinal cannabis to facilitate exercise adaptation in cancer patients.  He has experience conducting clinical trials and systematic reviews and collaborates with colleagues across many disciplines.  His formal training in exercise science was completed at the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria, in Canada, and the University of Sydney.
