Biography

Emily Rytmeister is a writer, filmmaker and Associate Lecturer in Communications. She has several degrees, including two Masters degrees and a PhD, and has won awards for both her teaching and research. Her PhD film, ‘Roger Frampton Comes Alive!’ , focused on the life and work of her musician father, and she is currently working on her second film. Her research interests include documentary film, family biography, Australian jazz, creative practice and grief. She has taught across the university’s Arts, Communications, Media and Design programmes since 2017. She has also worked behind-the-scenes in the Australian film, television, music and live entertainment industries.
