My research seeks to understand how the human visual system transforms complex, dynamic visual input into a meaningful understanding of the world. Using behavioural and neural markers of visual processing in healthy adults and infants, I answer questions such as “How do we recognise different aspects of the same face concurrently?” and
“How does prior knowledge influence visual processing of objects?”. I am particularly focused on understanding the dynamic unfolding of perceptual and cognitive processes, combining sophisticated behavioural and cognitive neuroscience methodologies (e.g., continuous human movement measures, electro/magneto-encephalography) with
state-of-the-art computational analysis methods to reveal the timecourse of face and object processing.
