Dr Jiahe Chen is an Associate Lecturer in Business Analytics at the School of Business, Western Sydney University (WSU). Before joining WSU in 2025, he obtained his Ph.D. in Business Information Systems from WSU, M.Sc. in Information Technology Management (Distinction) from the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University, and B.Mgt. and B.Ec. from China Jiliang University.
Jiahe mainly uses quantitative research methods (e.g., structural equation modelling and big data analytics) to analyse primary data through surveys and experiments. His research investigates the antecedents and consequences of technology use by both organisations and individuals, contributing to the fields of Information Systems, Marketing, and Management.
Jiahe’s research focuses on enhancing business value through the application of information technology. Driven by this broad interest, he has initiated and contributed to research projects in diverse areas such as cloud computing, e-business, e-commerce, e-health, smart retailing, smart tourism, digital transformation, supply chain management in disruptive times, and green transformation.
From these research projects, Jiahe has published more than 20 international journal and conference articles. His work has appeared in Electronic Markets, Industrial Management & Data Systems, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, International Journal of Consumer Studies, and Australasian Conference on Information Systems, among others.
Jiahe’s teaching is interdisciplinary, spanning the fields of Information Technology, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, and International Business. Prior to the current role, he previously served as a casual lecturer and tutor for related undergraduate and postgraduate subjects at WSU and other institutions, including Australia Catholic University and Swinburne University of Technology.
