Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer and researcher specialising in evaluation studies of student learning across all levels of formal education including, primary, secondary, and higher education. My research interests include technology-enhanced learning, collaborative learning, self-efficacy and collective efficacy, and the effects of testing on student learning and performance. My work has been published in Q1 journals in education including, the British Journal of Educational Psychology, Computers and Education, Educational Psychology Review, Learning and Instruction, and Research in Science Education. I have also co-edited a book on Problem-Solving in High Stakes Environments and have served as Guest Editor for the British Journal of Educational Psychology. I am a founding member of the Centre for Cognitive Load Research in Indonesia. I am an active research consultant for both the Parramatta Marist Diocese and Lismore Diocese, conducting funded research on project-based learning, religious education initiatives, and the self-efficacy beliefs of teachers. I have conducted research projects supported by industry grants from organisations such as the NSW Department of Education, the Aboriginal Languages Trust of NSW, Microsoft and Studiosity. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) which is an advanced level of professional standing that evidences expertise in teaching and learning in education. I am a member for learning and teaching committee in the Australian Technologies Teachers Network. I am also a school-based member of the The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development and have been developing multimedia resources to showcase the work of MARCS to schools in Western Sydney.
