Biography

 

Kate is an epidemiologist and chronic disease prevention expert and the Australian leading expert on obesity and breast screening. Kate has extensive experience in population health and chronic disease research including development, evaluation and translation of interventions and exploration of barriers to healthcare, particularly among individuals living with obesity to reduce their chronic disease risk. Kate is a passionate advocate for the health of high risk, marginalised populations through the optimisation of healthcare access among these individuals. Kate coordinates and teaches into several epidemiology, population health and evidence-based medicine units in the MD degree as well Master of Epidemiology and Chairs the School of Medicine AI Working Group.

Kate is the current President of the NSW Branch, Public Health Association of Australia and Australian & New Zealand Obesity Society Council Member.
