Biography
Laura is a public health researcher and practitioner with experience on the frontline of aged and disability sectors. She has worked closely with allied health professionals to deliver tailored programs for older adult quality of life, cognition and social wellbeing in residential aged care, ensuring their needs are met through evidence-based practice.
She completed her PhD in public health, with a focus on behavioural and implementation science. Her research translated theory into practical outcomes through the development and implementation of Brain Bootcamp Frontiers—a dementia risk reduction and awareness program designed for older adults living in rural and regional communities. Her work demonstrated how community-based interventions can be successfully scaled to improve brain health and preventative behaviours.
Now, she centres her work on the translation of research into real-world outcomes, with a dual focus on population-level and individual-level approaches. She is committed to advancing health and wellbeing across the lifespan, with particular emphasis on prevention, equity, and accessibility. Through her interdisciplinary and community-engaged approach, she continues to work to bridge the gap between science and practice to create sustainable, measurable impacts for diverse populations.
