Ms Lisa Tyson

As a dedicated and passionate Librarian, Understanding and being responsive to the changing ways in which we as a community engage with, understand and learn from different forms of information to create knowledge is the heart of my profession.

Within the Western Sydney University Library network of 8 campus libraries, I provide strategic oversight and direction to three diverse teams covering client services, resource acquistion and access, and the daily operation and management of the technical systems underpinning these services. As a member of the Library Executive Team my role is to identify priorities, clear roadblocks and encourage collaborative, inclusive and outcomes focussed teams empowered to achieve their goals in enhancing student success and delivering world-class information services.

I have instigated website reviews with a UX focus, delivered organisational change within the Library and worked collaboratively with colleagues to deliver 3 new libraries in 4 years to meet the information needs of students and staff.

I have wide ranging project management experience, including major software implimentation, website redevelopment, and building refurbishments. I have experience in the management of library-related systems, leading a team to achieve results and being part of the senior management team.

I've written and published papers on library system team structures and goals, presented at international conferences on skills audits development and implimentation, and at specialist international conferences on ILMS-specific topics
