Biography

Maeve is an Aboriginal (Ngiyampaa) academic from Sydney and Canberra with connections to family and Country in western New South Wales. She has a combined Bachelor of Arts/Economics at ANU in 2014 and a Master of Philosophy in Indigenous Studies from The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø in 2017. She is completeing  a PhD at the Crawford School of Public Policy, ANU with the working title (Re)Mapping the Academic Landscape: A Spatial Approach to Indigenous Belonging at ANU.

She situates her academic work at the intersection of Indigenous Studies and Critical Geography. Her interests are Indigenous experiences of belonging and diaspora, Indigenous political movements in global contexts and histories of planning and race in Australia. Her research and teaching praxis is informed by Indigenous and decolonising methodologies, Indigenous education and critical university studies.
