Biography

I am currently an Associate Professor in Microbiology . I have more than 20 years published experience in the fields of microbiology, bioactive metabolites and characterisation of biosynthetic gene clusters.

  • Bacterial communications and interactions
  • Microbial ecology in various environments including soil and plant-associated microbiomes
  • Cyanobacteria research, including studies on toxic cyanobacterial blooms
  • Antimicrobial compounds and antibiotic resistance
  • Environmental microbiology, with a focus on microbial communities in different ecosystems
