I am currently an Associate Professor in Microbiology . I have more than 20 years published experience in the fields of microbiology, bioactive metabolites and characterisation of biosynthetic gene clusters.

- Bacterial communications and interactions
- Microbial ecology in various environments including soil and plant-associated microbiomes
- Cyanobacteria research, including studies on toxic cyanobacterial blooms
- Antimicrobial compounds and antibiotic resistance
- Environmental microbiology, with a focus on microbial communities in different ecosystems
