Biography

Dr Neha Deo is an Associate Lecturer in Finance and the High School Engagement Lead at the School of Business, Western Sydney University, Australia. She holds a PhD in Finance from Western Sydney University, where she also completed a First-Class Honours degree in Finance and a Bachelor of Business and Commerce, majoring in Applied Finance. She is also a recipient of the University Medal.

Neha is a mixed-methods researcher with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Her research is primarily within the field of green finance, with particular interests in sustainable financial markets and instruments, and the role of finance in supporting the transition to net zero and enabling low-emissions societies of the future. Her work also explores investor behaviour, circular economy practice adoption, and broader issues related to sustainability.

A dedicated and passionate educator, Neha has been formally recognised for her contributions to student learning through multiple School- and University-level teaching awards and commendations. Neha is an inaugural Fellow of Badugulang, Western Sydney University’s Centre for Teaching and Learning Excellence, and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). Neha also serves as Deputy Chair of the Women in Economics Network at Western (WEN@Western) initiative.
