Personal profile

Biography

Reed Everingham is a registered clinical counsellor (PACFA), counselling supervisor, counselling academic, and researcher based in Australia. He is currently employed by Western Sydney University (WSU), where he teaches in the Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling and the Graduate Diploma of Counselling programs. Reed is curious about the relationship between cognitive learning and somatic experiencing. He questions how the body fits into our societal understanding of the self and whether person-centred values align with the experience of the ‘person’ in the early stages of professional practice.

His clinical practice, teaching, and development experiences inform and shape his research interests, which include embodiment, counselling, kinship, safety, and person-centred practice.
