Dr Sheeja Pathrose is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Western Sydney University, Australia, and Director of the JBI Western Sydney Centre. She is an experienced nurse academic and researcher with a strong commitment to advancing evidence-based healthcare, research capacity building, and knowledge translation.

Her research focuses on evidence-based healthcare, evidence synthesis, implementation science, cancer awareness, neonatal health, adolescent and young adult health, primary healthcare, and the health needs of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations. Dr Pathrose has extensive expertise in systematic reviews and is actively involved in mentoring clinicians, academics, and higher degree research students in evidence synthesis methodologies.

Dr Pathrose is an active research supervisor, supporting Higher Degree Research students across a range of areas including primary healthcare, cancer awareness and prevention, adolescent and young adult health, and the health and wellbeing of CALD populations. She is currently leading an international collaborative research project focused on cancer awareness among adolescents and young adults in India and Australia.

Through her teaching, research, supervision, and leadership roles, Dr Pathrose is committed to strengthening research capability, promoting evidence-informed decision-making, and translating research into practice to improve health outcomes for diverse populations locally and globally.
