Biography

Dr. Stacey Sherwood is an Associate Lecturer in TESOL/Linguistics at the School of Humanities and Communication Arts, Western Sydney University. She earned her PhD in 2021 from the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour, and Development. Dr. Sherwood's research focuses on sociolinguistics, language variation, and acquisition, with notable projects on socially-indexed meanings, Indigenous Australian languages, and Japanese sociolinguistics. She is a member of the Australian Linguistics Society and she has received multiple awards, including the Australian Postgraduate Award.
