Biography
Dr Tai-Ying Lee has a diverse background in teaching and clinical work from her work experiences in New Zealand, Australia, and Hong Kong. Tai-Ying has participated in curriculum design and development of various health professions programs, aiming to integrate evidence-based practice and promote critical thinking in student learning. She was an integral part of the team at the University of Hong Kong which developed a new Health Professions’ Education (HPE) programme, introduced simulations into their speech language pathology programme, and worked on establishing a teleclinic as part of students’ clinical training and experience. She was a content expert for the interprofessional education initiative, jointly established with the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, which developed case-based learning modules for students across a range of health professions from medicine, nursing, social work, and speech language pathology. Tai-Ying is also a certified practising speech language pathologist, her clinical expertise is focused on working with children and families from diverse populations, particularly on speech sound disorders, and language disorders. She has worked extensively in the early childhood and school sectors, with periods in special school, acute and rehabilitation contexts. Her clinical experience has provided her with valuable insights into the practical application of research findings in real-world clinical settings, which has shaped her research direction on multilingual intervention implementation, early multilingual language and phonological development, and health professions’ education.
