Biography

My research interests are anchored in understanding how demographic, social and spatial transformation reshape the ways in which individuals and communities experience care, belonging and connection across the life course. I focus on four interrelated thematic areas: ageing and the aged care workforce, intergenerational relations, migration and place-based policies. Together, these areas form a coherent agenda that examines how societies respond to population ageing in increasingly diverse and mobile contexts.

A central pillar of my work investigates ageing and the aged care workforce with particular attention to sustainability, conditions and social value of care work and changing intergenerational relations. I examine the workforce dynamics including skill composition, precarity and the growing reliance on migrant labour, to understand how care is organised, structured and delivered in practice.

Across the four themes, my research is unified by a concern of equity, sustainability and social cohesion. I aim to generate evidence that informs gerontological practice and policy in ways that are socially just, culturally responsive and grounded in everyday realities.
