Abstract
In this paper, the effect of lip height on the burning behaviour of pool fire was investigated by using combined experimental and numerical methods. The dependence of burning rate and flame height on pool scale and lip height was investigated, and the feedback mechanisms of each phase were analysed. Based on the experimental burning rate, Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) models were used to investigate the flame height of pool fires. The variation trend of actual flame height and inside flame was investigated, with dimensionless correlations proposed.
