    Abstract

In recent years, the authors have been engaged in the research for the fire performance of composite structures, which includes: (1) the fire performance of concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) and steel reinforced concrete (SRC) members, steel-concrete composite joints and frames; (2) the mechanical performance of steel-concrete composite members, CFST column to steel beam joints and SRC column to SRC beam joints subjected to a loading sequence including initial loading, heating, cooling and postfire loading. Numerical analysis models were established, and after being verified by the experimental results, they were used to analyze the mechanical characteristics of the composite members, joints and frames under the combinations of loads and fire. Based on the numerical analysis models, the fire performance and fire resistance design of composite structures under the combined actions of loads and fire were studied deeply. This paper generally sumarised the research outcomes.
