Abstract

Secure data sharing while preserving user privacy is a critical challenge in Biomedical applications. This paper presents the Secure Health Data Handling Framework (SHDHF), a comprehensive and multi-layered solution designed to address this challenge. SHDHF leverages blockchain technology and a hierarchical architecture consisting of four primary layers: User, Gateway, Blockchain, and Hospital Cloud. Each layer incorporates sublayers to provision secure data handling and user-controlled access. The framework enables real-time data collection from wearable IoT devices, secure data transmission, decentralised access control, and robust encryption for storage. SHDHF also provides a comprehensive solution for privacy-preserving biomedical data sharing, supporting personalised healthcare and biomedical research.
