Abstract
This chapter explores a drama ecology of culture in order to understand the pattern that connects ‘nature to culture’ and how this can make us become more alive. It is informed by my academic research in drama and theatre studies as well as my experience in theatre and in drama education over the last three decades. It addresses vital issues in our contemporary world in relation to the planetary ecological crisis. A crisis I am framing as a crisis in our cultural ecology. My writing in this chapter is framed within the discipline of social ecology, which includes perspectives drawn from personal, social, ecological and spiritual domains.
