Abstract

Attachment of a device that provides a trace of an animalÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s movements has played a role in movement studies for decades. However, past spooling devices tended to be bulky and relatively heavy. We present a modification of the traditional tracking device that greatly reduces its weight, is quick and easy to produce, cost-effective to use and has been successfully trialled on both turtles and dragons.
