Abstract

Our previous finding on the study of memory encoding suggests that there were two distinct encoding strategies: perceptual- and semantic-based. Our other study using event-related potentials found that people with MCI used elaborative processing in their memory encoding. A memory training program using daily tasks as training context was developed based on these previous findings and it included perceptual- and semantic-based encoding strategies under elaborative processing.
