N2 - Organisations are increasing their reliance on Information and Communication Technology to make their business processes more efficient and effective, transforming them into eOrganisations. Our research has shown that this eTransformation is an ongoing process with multiple stages and dimensions, and cannot be approached as a one-off project. In its early stages, business reasons heavily influence the types of Information Systems deployed in the organisation. The implemented Information Systems then impact how other business processes can be automated; sometimes limiting what can be achieved. Thus, it is essential to have a Roadmap highlighting future requirements when embarking on the process to eTransform an organisation. Furthermore there is also the need to follow a methodology. Our research has shown that there is a strong interplay among Technology, Processes and People, with a change in one leading to subsequent changes in the others. This gives raise to a process of co-evolution. Thus it is important to understand the dynamics of eTransformation and the need to have information systems that can support coevolution. To facilitate the eTransformation of rganisations we have now developed an eTransformation Roadmap, a Methodology and a Technology framework to develop the required Information Systems to support the evolving business processes in an organisation.
