Abstract
Naming' is a curious process and it is central to the inquiry that I, like all writers, find myself within. In this essay I want to make this inquiry overt. I want to personalise it and contextualise it and present it as a pivot that determines, in an ecological sense, the extent and depth of the relationships"”social, environmental, spiritual, incidental"”that determine the ways and means whereby we create and participate in cultural consciousness.
