Abstract

Data governance is the one of the biggest challenges in the information technology domain. Even though data governance is very crucial, unfortunately there is not enough research have been conducted. The biggest hindrance for researching on data governance is the lack of universally accepted taxonomy. Therefore, establishing a standardised taxonomy is the crucial step for further research. This research paper intends to explore the idea of a standardised taxonomy of the data governance based on research paper by Al-Ruithe et al. (Data governance taxonomy-cloud versus non-cloud, pp. 1-26, 2018 [1]) as well as a well-designed survey. The survey is specifically designed to reflect practitioners' expectations on the cloud-based services. Based on new findings, this paper also proposes recommendations for standardised taxonomy of data governance for cloud-based services.
