Abstract
This essay looks into the democratic ideas and practices of the hidden and other(ed) non-western societies, mainly inquiring into the traditional political system of Kondh adivasi, Kui-lukon (Kui speaking people as they used to identify themselves as; Kui being the adivasi language) in parts of South Odisha, India.
