Abstract

Pulmonary diseases (both acute and chronic) include asthma, acute lung injury, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer. These diseases affect a significant percentage of the global population. Medicinal plants are gaining considerable attention as promising therapeutics in alleviating respiratory diseases. Advanced drug-delivery systems have become well established, particularly in the field of nanotechnology, which has taken on new significance as an emerging field in the management of inflammatory lung diseases.
