Abstract

The three major religions of Africa are African indigenous religions, Islam, and Christianity. In such a large continent with a vast number of local and kinship-related societies, the interactions between the three major religions have produced numerous new religious movements that assimilate aspects of Islam or Christianity into indigenous religious expressions.
