    Abstract

In order to measure the air ventilation in an urban environment, particularly the wind-assistant pollutant dispersion, we suggested a digital wind tunnel based on CFD technology. We simulated the dispersion pathways of air pollutant emission from the windward or leeward faces of a high-rise building and made a comparison with experimental observations. For windward emission, pollution is dispersion downwards by wind downwash. For a leeward pollution emission, pollutant is migrating upwards that is pushed by the wind - structure interaction.
