Abstract
Sixteen per cent of women aged 35-60 are drinking at risky or high-risk levels. In a bid to tap into the experiences of this group and the practitioners who care for them, since 2005 we have been researching midlife women who are in recovery for alcohol dependence. Our goal is to explore, explain and develop gender-sensitive support for this group.
