All you ever needed to learn about management in your MBA : but probably didn't

Robert Woog, Richard Bawden

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This is a paper designed to provoke thinking and argument about management, leadership, and organisational learning. The authors aim not for an exhaustive nor orderly review of the facts of these matters, instead offering a 'fairly messy account all round, though we say it ourselves'. Further, it is emotive, filled with prejudice and value statements, and favourite ideas and fables. The challenge the authors set themselves is to present a coherent picture of the innate messiness of the process of management, and how such messiness can be brought to bear to improve organisational problem- solving.
