Abstract

Using various layout techniques and circuit configurations, the effects of matching on a log-domain filter were analyzed. It is shown here that one of three possible Tau Cell configurations to implement the same 2nd order low pass filter clearly outperforms the others. Furthermore, application of a common centroid layout technique has had no noticeable improvement on filter matching.
