Abstract

Using various layout techniques and circuit configurations, the effects of matching on a log-domain filter were analyzed. It is shown here that one of three possible Tau Cell configurations to implement the same 2^nd order low pass filter clearly outperforms the others. Furthermore, application of a common centroid layout technique has had no noticeable improvement on filter matching.
