Abstract
A particle system can be described by discrete approach at a microscopic level or continuum approach at a macroscopic level. It is very significant to develop an averaging method to link the two approaches for the development of models allowing a better understanding of the fundamentals of particle systems. This paper introduces such a method and its applications to several particle flows.
