Abstract
The number of anti-dumping initiatives has increased in recent years. One of the WTO sanctioned measures that are alleged to have been used as another non-tariff barrier in disguise by governments is anti-dumping measures. Using Bangladesh as a case, this paper evaluates some of the disadvantages faced by the developing countries; particularly the least developed ones, and their international businesses due to dumping and the anti-dumping measures. The paper argues that, dumping as well as anti-dumping measures disadvantages developing countries particularly the least developed ones and their international businesses. Governments of these countries need to be proactive and take strategic measures to counter this problem. The strategy of the developing countries in this regard should be two-pronged: firstly, to safeguard own international businesses from anti-dumping actions overseas and secondly, to protect its own domestic businesses from international predatory dumping.
