Abstract
A fast and reliable method for identification of power distribution network faults, which does not resort to any heuristic rule, is proposed. Fault patterns are grouped together in such a way that their distinctive features can be explored and used for identification purposes. The method is tested and it is shown that, after thorough training, fast and successful identification of all faults is achieved.
