Assessment in the VET sector

    Abstract

    Assessment is integral to teaching and learning. In VET, assessment provides the bridge between the learning that students undertake and the outcomes that that industry specifies in Training Packages. This means that VET teachers need to understand how to design high quality assessment strategies which support students’ learning and which provide the evidence needed to judge the outcomes of this learning. This chapter provides an overview of the key ideas and processes involved in designing implementing and evaluating assessment strategies in the VET sector.
