Abstract

Concrete and cementitious materials are widely used in construction due to their durability, strength, and ability to withstand various environmental conditions. The assessment of these materials is crucial to ensure their quality, performance, and long service life. Cementitious materials, such as Portland cement, silica fume, fly ash, and slag, are commonly used in construction. Therefore, it is important to observe the building materials' life cycle, reuse construction and demolition waste, and invest in clean energy sources, especially in conjunction with sustainable projects contributing to the recovery of the environment. This chapter covers the assessment of these construction materials considering not only their technical aspects but also their social, economic, and environmental impacts.
