Abstract

Music and piano by Diana Blom. Text from the novel “Here at the end of the world we learn to dance” by Lloyd Jones. Setting excerpts of a novel can result in a long song, in this case, a work of three sections but all bound together – almost a mini-theatre piece. The focus of the New Zealand writer’s novel on the tango and the entwining love story were irresistible and the song was written for tenor, Kevin Hanrahan.
