Abstract

![CDATA[Given the growing significance of ‘Knowledge Work’ in industrial societies, scholars have emphasized the need to understand the factors affecting knowledge workers’ productivity. This study is designed to determine the effect that work design and other external factors has on the productivity of knowledge workers in the Australian information technology sector in both the private and public sector. The study found that, knowledge sharing, motivational characteristics, organisational characteristics, social characteristics and technologies are key determinants of knowledge workers’ productivity.]]
