Abstract

Awkward Conversations are performances offering one-on-one conversations in experimental formats, tackling anxieties, habits and hard-to-talk about subjects. In this performance the performer extends what constitutes a conversation. In this performance participants respectfully delve into people's warped perceptions and taboos about disability. This performance is a psychosocial experiment with a visual arts medium to examine social methodologies for overcoming stereotyping.
