Abstract

DNIG! performed Babylon 19|30 at The Playhouse, Western Sydney University, on 2nd September 2016, as part of the Creativity Unlimited Music Festival. DNIG! is a loose collective of human musicians and the computational loop generator XronoMorph. XronoMorph uses the mathematical principles of perfect balance and wellformedness to generate complex multilayered rhythms that can be smoothly morphed between. The human musicians in the current iteration of DNIG! are: Andrew Milne (XronoMorph and keyboards), Gareth Hearne (sax), Felix Dobrowohl (sax and electronics), Ian Colley (electric violin). Expect some unusual time-signatures!
