Abstract

![CDATA[This paper investigates the effect of voids created by the BubbleDeck slab system to the shear capacity of the headed shear studs commonly used in steel-concrete composite construction. A series of push out test specimens that includes the solid slab as the control, the BubbleDeck slab and the Precast BubbleDeck slab had been tested until failure to determine their loadslip behaviours, shear capacities and failure modes. From the test results, it can be concluded that BubbleDeck voids have not impacted the shear capacity of the shear connectors greatly.]]
