Abstract

The load versus deformation curves of high-performance concrete (HPC) filled steel tubular columns under eccentric loadings are calculated using the finite element analysis. The calculated results are verified by test results. The finite element modeling is then used to analyze the load versus deformation relationships, and to investigate the composite action between the steel tube and concrete core. A design method for HPC filled steel tubular columns is recommended.
